Sedation Dentistry

We understand that for many patients, visiting the dentist can be a source of anxiety. Whether it’s due to a previous experience, sensitive teeth, or a fear of needles or procedures, dental anxiety is more common than you might think and you're not alone.

At The Arnprior Tooth Doctor, we offer sedation dentistry to help make your visit as relaxed and stress-free as possible. Our goal is to provide the care you need, at your pace, with your comfort always top of mind.

What Is Sedation Dentistry?

Sedation dentistry uses safe, proven medications to help patients feel calm and comfortable during dental procedures. It’s especially helpful for patients who:

  • - Experience dental anxiety or fear

  • - Have a sensitive gag reflex

  • - Struggle with sitting still for long periods

  • - Are undergoing longer or more complex treatments

  • - Have had past traumatic dental experiences

Sedation Options We Offer:

Oral Sedation

A prescription medication taken before your appointment to help you feel deeply relaxed — but still awake and responsive. Many patients remember very little of the procedure afterward.

Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)

A gentle, fast-acting sedative inhaled through a mask. It helps take the edge off anxiety and wears off quickly after the procedure, allowing most patients to resume normal activities.

We’ll help you choose the sedation method that’s right for your needs and medical history.

Safe, Monitored, and Judgment-Free

Sedation dentistry is closely monitored throughout your visit to ensure your safety and comfort. Our team is experienced, compassionate, and never judgmental — we’re here to make sure you feel respected and supported, no matter your past experiences.

If fear has kept you from getting the care you need, sedation can be a powerful step toward reclaiming your oral health.
